Laboratory Animals: The international journal of laboratory animal science and welfare
Published by Royal Society of Medicine Press on behalf of Laboratory Animals Limited, (i)Laboratory Animals(/I) is a major international journal focused on laboratory animal science and welfare. It is the official journal of FELASA, GV-SOLAS, ILAF, LASA, NVKC, SECAL, SPCAL and SGV. For more details or to read the journal, please visit www.la.rsmjournals.com.
Euroguide
This book has been produced by the Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations (FELASA) in conjunction with the European Partnership for Alternative Approaches to Animal Testing (EPAA). It provides scientists with details of the core aspects of the rules for the care of laboratory animals set out in the revised Appendix A of the (i)European Convention for the Protection of Vertebrate Animals used for Experimental and Other Scientific Purposes(/i) (ETS 123). This accessible, reader-friendly guide is aimed at anyone working with laboratory animals or in services related to their housing and care.

Laboratory Animals Handbooks
The Design of Animal Experiments
Where there is no alternative to the use of experimental animals in biomedical research, it is important that experiments are well designed and correctly analysed in order to maximize the chance of getting scientifically valid results. Experiments that use too few animals may fail to pick up biologically important effects, while those that use too many or use them incorrectly may be subjecting them to unnecessary pain, distress or lasting harm.
This book is aimed at all research scientists who use laboratory animals, with the aim of helping them to design their own experiments more effectively and/or to improve their ability to communicate with professional statisticians when designing more complex experiments. It covers many aspects of experimental design, such as choice of experimental animal, which are not considered by most statistics textbooks. Conversely, it does not cover the more advanced designs or statistical methods, so it should ideally be used in conjunction with more conventional statistics textbooks.

Health and Safety in Laboratory Animal Facilities
This book provides guidance on assessing hazards and risks, as well as how to eliminate and minimise them. It also emphasises that each facility is unique and must be assessed locally by competent persons familiar with all aspects. It is recommended reading for all professionals working with laboratory animals.

Parasites of Laboratory Animals
This extensively illustrated handbook provides research workers with a rapid means of identifying the most common parasites of laboratory rodents, lagomorphs and primates. It is a recommended text for every animal house facility.
