The 10th AFLAS Congress and the 18th Academic Conference on Laboratory Animal Science and Technology of China will take place from October 20 to 24, 2025, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. The event is co-hosted by the Asian Federation of Laboratory Animal Science Associations (AFLAS) and the Chinese Association for Laboratory Animal Sciences (CALAS). The congress includes a training session on Animal Welfare and a thematic session called the International Forum. This grant is requested to cover travel and registration expenses for participation in these sessions.

Attendance of Module 2: Management of animal facilities, breeding and animal care programs of the MSc in Laboratory Animal Science and Welfare program in Barcelona, Spain. The course will be held at the veterinary faculty of the Autonomous University Barcelona and is FELASA accredited. The applicant seeks funding to support her professional development during maternity leave.

To Speak on the Topic: Pan-Africa Network for Laboratory Animal Science and Ethics (PAN-LASE); Education and Training based on 3Rs principles in Research/laboratory Animal Sciences, Welfare and Ethics across Africa. Paper is speaking on education and training activities of PAN-LASE in Africa for possible support or collaboration for the development of laboratory animal sciences / research in African countries or low middle income countries.

By attending the course *"Animal Experimentation: Welfare, Legislation and Ethical Committees and Evaluation of Projects"*, which is accredited by FELASA, the project aims to equip participants with the skills necessary for project evaluation and ethical oversight in animal research. The knowledge gained will enhance the quality of ethical reviews, with a focus on the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement), aligning Brazilian practices with international standards. The dissemination of findings through workshops, presentations, and institutional training will foster a culture of animal welfare in Brazil, contributing to better scientific and ethical practices in laboratory animal science.
