Funding open access CC-BY publication in LAJ of the FELASA – EFAT WG report on “Harmonisation of Education, Training and CPD for laboratory animal caretakers and technicians”
The joint Working Group FELASA-EFAT on “Harmonisation of education, training and CPD for laboratory animal caretakers and technicians” has finalized the work. The members of the Working Group, Klas Abelson (Convenor), Tereasa De La Cueva, Friedemann Pohlig, Delphine Grézel, Vasileios Ntafis, Ana Isabel Santos, Martin Heath, Pim Rooymans, Glyn Fisher, Charlie Chambers have written the report which was submitted to “Laboratory Animals” (LA-23-051) for publication.
FELASA working group reports must not be submitted for publication without approval of the FELASA Member Delegates (MDs). Therefore, the draft of the present report was distributed to FELASA Member Associations for revision and comments. The reviewers are experts in the field. Furthermore, the draft has also been circulated among members of EFAT for further comments and revisions.
The authors have addressed all comments made by the reviewers and FELASA MDs and the Executive Committee (EC) has approved the present version of the report.
It is mandatory that FELASA WG manuscript must published as peer reviewed scientific papers with open access CC-BY in order to reach immediately the maximum number of professionals involved in the use of laboratory animals – and to include a reprint on the FELASA website. FELASA is a no-profit organization with limited resources. The money necessary for covering open access fees of FELASA recommendations will reduce the reserves for other tasks. This specific action is fully coincident with the aims of Laboratory Animals Limited to promote education and training in laboratory animal science, medicine, technology, and welfare.
